Selene Locke

Selene has lived in a handful of states on both coasts, but she considers herself home in Boulder, CO. She studies International Affairs at the University of Colorado, and in her spare time, can probably be found at a show with her camera in hand. She's been shooting shows ever since she started her own music website at 16. Though the website didn't work out in the end, her love for live music and photography definitely stuck. Someone once told her that she has the "sluttiest" music taste they've ever heard of, which is pretty accurate – she'll listen to just about anything as long as it pleases her ears. Besides music, her four favorite things are red lipstick, whiskey, traveling, and Twitter. Follow Selene on Twitter: @selenemarya

Who: Raekwon
Where: Fox Theatre
Opener: Freddie Gibbs, JD Era, Kofi Black, Flowalition

The crowd: Laid-back and social. Everyone was here to have a good time, and it was obvious as they chatted and shared drinks (and who knows what else) between sets. We're all too familiar with the shows where half the crowd has their noses stuck in the air, but this was certainly not one of them.

Favorite moment: Random kids passing blunts to Freddie Gibbs throughout his entire set, with security totally looking the other way.

Details: After charging out onto the stage and shouting "I'm drunk, let's do this," Raekwon opened his set with the infamous "C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)." This set the scene for an incredible throwback to the 90s and the glory days of the Wu-Tang Clan. Everyone on the floor kept their "W's" thrown in the air as he blazed through classic after classic.

FYI: No cops allowed at a Freddie Gibbs show. The constant chanting of "Fuck Police" during his set would have scared any officer straight out of the venue.

The bad: Due to University of Colorado at Boulder's spring break, the crowd at Fox Theatre was pretty small. Their loss, though - watching Rae and Gibbs completely took our minds off the fact that we were stuck home in Boulder for the weekend.
