Noam Silkoff

Noam is your typical wandering Jew. Born in Israel, lived in Toronto, now residing in downtown Denver, and holds UK, Israeli and American citizenships. His family boasts many musical talents which he apparently missed out on. He is a fan of all different types of music ranging from reggae to hip-hop, classic rock, and of course, EDM. After capturing his wild adventures of going to shows with a shitty point and shoot camera, he decided to start a music website, which somehow led to Swaager. His drinks of choice include Jameson and PBR and if you see him out without a v-neck on, he must be having an off-night. He enjoys nothing more than being at a show - it includes anything and everything you could ever ask for: music, girls, and booze. Follow Noam on Twitter: @volecule

Fast becoming firm favourites amongst the North American clubbing masses, brothers Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike now announce their second major tour of the United States and Canada for 2012.

Hitting the cities of Santa Ana, San Diego, San Francisco, Toronto, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, the pair are on top form and buzzing from their arena-closing set at Electric Daisy Carnival in Vegas.

“It was absolutely wild,” Dimitri said, “one of the best gigs we’ve ever played and an insane atmosphere. The scene is just electric over there right now and we’re looking to take it even higher this time around.”

Known for their huge mash-ups in the mix and Mike’s ‘force-to-be-reckoned with’ persona on the mic, these two Belgian superstars have swiftly created a niche position for themselves in a majorly crowded market, bringing a live MC element to their shows that hypes already bumping dance floors to electronic extremes.

“We’ll be bringing it big time,” confirmed Mike. “We’re getting bigger and faster with every gig so if you think things were nuts last time round, you ain’t seen nothing yet!”

We interviewed the boys earlier this year, check it out!

SWAAGER: What’s the craziest thing that has happened while on stage or backstage during your tour?

Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas: Escape from Wonderland was just mayhem backstage… everyone was having a party in their trailer so of course we had to join in! We also got mobbed by a load of fans after our set, amazing but really surreal. It was really an insane night…which made us love it even more

SWAAGER: What makes you different from other EDM acts?

Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas: I think the DJ/vocalist combo we do is pretty different from the rest, we also try to bring a very energetic set. We’re also well known for making our own mash-ups of tunes we love especially for our show, which means that when you listen to our sets or come to see us play, you’ll hear stuff you won’t hear anywhere else. For us it’s very important to make sure that when you come and see Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, you get an experience that’s a true one-off and that you won’t get from any other artists.

SWAAGER: What prompted your move from Greece to Belgium? Was it all music related or were there other factors?

Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas: It was actually our dad’s decision… so just a twist of fate I guess. Worked out well for us.

SWAAGER: If a fan had a chance to spend the day with you guys what would you do to show them a good time?

Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas: Well it would probably depend if they were with us in the week or on the weekend when we’re playing. If it’s in the week, then we’d show them how much work goes in behind the scenes to make your career work. Most people probably think that we have loads of downtime but we’re always either in the studio, listening to news tracks for our own sets or for the Smash The House label, or on the phone to our agents and manager, or doing interviews – maybe they could help us with that! If they came on the weekend, we’d give them a time they’d never forget. We’d take them right into the heart of it – backstage, in the DJ booth, man we’d even share our alcohol with them!

SWAAGER: How do you unwind on the road?

Like Mike: Sleep…. as much as I can get. It’s kind of hard sometimes when you’re in different time zones and you’re up all hours so if I’m tired, I sleep.

Dimitri Vegas: I do some A&R work or listen to some new tracks for the set.

SWAAGER: Who would you like to collaborate with next?

Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas: The list is unending, but there are some very cool ones right behind the corner – we’ve been sworn to secrecy right now so if we told you then we’d have to kill you!

SWAAGER: Your favorite US city and why? Where have you meet the hottest girls?

Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas:  We love Miami, was the first place we ever came and it feels like home… and we just fell in love with LA – can’t wait to be back!! Where do we meet the hottest girls? Everywhere we go man – the clubs are just full of gorgeous women. It’s always a pleasure to see them from our vantage point in the DJ booth. We definitely get a good view ;)

SWAAGER: Do you have any pre-concert rituals?

Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas: Champagne… lots of it!! Maybe that’s why LMFAO asked us to remix “Champagne Showers.” Apart from that, it’s just to make sure we remembered our tunes, we’re looking good and we’re pumped to go deliver!
